Texhoma, Oklahoma - Maxine Dawson was living at the Arbors in Amarillo, Texas when she left for her heavenly home on September 29, 2014..
The daughter of Trilby (DePuy) and Raymond Loper, Trilby Maxine was born November 22, 1924 in Cooper, Oklahoma. She spent her early life in Cleveland, Oklahoma, graduating from Cleveland High School. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she majored in business and accounting. She was united in marriage to Arden H. Dawson, Jr. on June 21, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Guymon, Oklahoma – Jean Kottke, 83, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2014 at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, Kansas.

MINNIE MAE CROSS

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Minnie Mae Cross, 93, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Minnie was born on September 19, 1921 in Iden, New Mexico to M. Myles and Ethel (Potter) Watson. She attended Fargo Schools until high school when she transferred to Cheyenne High School in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. It was in Cheyenne that she met and married James N. “J.N.” Cross on April 25, 1940. Minnie and J.N. had two children – Billy Von (born 1944, deceased 1992) and James N. Cross III (1948).

ALFRED L. LUTZ

OSWEGO, KANSAS: Alfred L. Lutz, age 91, passed away Thursday, October 09, 2014 at Chetopa Manor, Chetopa, KS following an illness.

Alfred was born Oct 1, 1923 in Durham, OK. His parents were Edward and Mary (Hensley) Lutz. He had lived in Oswego over 30 years.

BOYD MONROE JACKSON

Boyd Monroe Jackson was a quiet man, but he had a lively and ornery sense of humor. Although he was physically short and small in stature, it belied how great was his love for God and for family. Born in Liberal, Kansas on November 9, 1934 to Wallace and Berenice (Miller) Jackson, he graduated from Guymon High School in 1952. He referred to Guymon as “God’s Country” even as a child growing up in the area, the nation referred to it as the bottom center of the “Dust Bowl!” Mr. Jackson married Karen Statler on November 28, 1957 and stayed married until his death.

MAY ELLEN TURPEN

May Ellen Turpen, 92, of Texhoma was called to her heavenly home and into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday morning, October 2, 2014 at the Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Texas.

The daughter of Hardy and Amanda Ellen (Puterbaugh) Keylon, she was born September 20, 1922 on the family farm north of Texhoma, where she was raised with her seven brothers and sisters. She attended the Texhoma school system, graduating from Texhoma High School.

ORVILLE JOEL CLEMANS

Orville Joel Clemans, 100, longtime resident of the Straight community, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2014 at the Heritage Community Manor in Guymon.

The son of James Barton and Mattie Catherine (Pittman) Clemans, he was born September 18, 1914 in Linneus, Missouri. The Clemans family came to the Oklahoma Panhandle in 1918 from Missouri.

John G. Sloan, 66, of Guymon passed away Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The son of Russell Gilbert and Helen Cora (Wassom) Sloan, he was born April 2, 1948 in Larned, Kansas. John graduated from Borger High School in Borger, Texas with the Class of 1966. He then attended Frank Phillips College.

MARIA DELROSARIO ESPINOZA

Maria DelRosario Espinoza, 48, of Optima passed away Saturday morning, September 27, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.

The daughter of Fernando Marquez and Maria DelRosario Candia, she was born November 1, 1965 in Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Maria and Gregorio Espinoza, Jr. were married on August 2, 1984 in El Paso, Texas. The family moved to Guymon in May of 2001 from El Paso, and recently had moved to Optima. Maria was a homemaker and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
