JOHN ALLEN DARBRO

John Allen Darbro, 77, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 19, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.
John was born September 28, 1936 in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Charles W. and Neva (Moser) Darbro. He attended school in Goodwell, graduating with the Class of 1955. John was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a heavy equipment operator with the State of Oklahoma; retiring in 1998.

BETTY JEANNE BATTEN

Betty Jeanne Batten, 84, of Amarillo, died Monday, April 7, 2014.
Services were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at First Christian Church with the Rev. Regi Fowler officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Batten was born April 17, 1929, in Guymon, Okla. to Cairo and Amos Bartels. She married William “Bill” Earl Batten on Dec. 29, 1950, in Guymon. Mr. Batten passed away May 1, 2009. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Betty Jeanne Batten, 84, of Amarillo, died Monday, April 7, 2014.
Services were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at First Christian Church with the Rev. Regi Fowler officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Margaret Lucille Long Lindley, 91, of rural Optima, OK passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, TX.
She was the fifth child of six born September 4, 1922 on the family farm near Optima to Louis and Josephine (Bauer) Long. She attended Optima Elementary School and graduated from Guymon High School. Margaret attended the Amarillo Secretarial School procuring a job following graduation, but had to resign, returning to the family farm to work as her oldest brother George enlisted in the Navy when WW II began.

Glade Johnson, 83, longtime Hardesty, Oklahoma, farmer and rancher, passed away Sunday morning, April 6th, 2014 at his home in Gruver, Texas.
Emiel Glade Johnson was born December 29, 1930 to Paul and Vonnona Phillips Johnson. He was born in the Camrick community and moved when he was 5 to the present home place near Hardesty, Oklahoma, where he spent the rest of his life. As a small boy his constant companions were his old dog “Rover” and his horse “Tintsey”.
