CARMEN MESTA DE CASAS

Carmen Mesta de Casas, 37, passed away Friday morning, September 12, 2014 at her home in Guymon.

The daughter of Jesus and Maria (Avalos) Mesta, she was born July 16, 1977 in Durango, Mexico.

Carmen was married to Ignacio Casas on September 8, 2006 in Perryton, Texas. She has been a resident of Guymon for the past 14 years, and was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and daughter, Gema Casas.

EROUS YVONNE ELLIOTT

Erous Yvonne Elliott, 89, longtime Texhoma, Texas resident, passed away Saturday morning, September 13, 2014 at Vivian’s Nursing Home in Amarillo, Texas.

The daughter of Lee Augustus and Erous Joan (Johnson) Berry, she was born January 8, 1925 in Brownfield, Texas. Yvonne grew up being a model in New Jersey. She was always confident in her dress attire, having everything match from head to toe.

NEVAEH BURWELL

Nevaeh Burwell, newborn daughter of Thad and Theresa Burwell of Guymon, passed away Friday night September 5, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.

Baby Nevaeh born August 21st. Her twin sister, Heaven Leigh, passed away August 24th.

She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Alizahh and Amiliana; brother, Thad Burwell, Jr.; and her grandparents, Laurie and Juan Cruz; Leanna and Gabriel Medina. She is also survived by her aunts, Tasha Clay, Adrianna Medina, Marisa Rodriguez; uncles, Feliziano Cruz, Juan Cruz, Tony Cruz, Gabriel Medina, Jr; several cousins and numerous other relatives.

DEAN HUCKINS

Dean Huckins, 94, longtime Guymon resident passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Heritage Community Manor.

The son of William A. and Mable M. (Bell) Huckins, Orvil Dean Huckins was born March 16, 1920 in Putnum, Oklahoma. Dean was an Army combat veteran of World War II. He received his honorable discharge on January 23, 1946.

Ginger Hall Underwood, 67, An accomplished teacher, wife, mother, & author passed away on August 12, 2014. She is believed to have suffered a heart-related medical emergency that caused her to lose consciousness causing her car to veer into the path of a truck. Ginger was born on February 13, 1947 in Liberal, Kansas to Ray and Virginia Hall of Goodwell, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Dr. Larry D.

Betty L. Hampton, age 77, of Guymon, Oklahoma died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Baptist St. Anthony Hospice in Amarillo, Texas. She was born July 21, 1937 in Haskell, Oklahoma the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Hynes) Caster.

Matthew D. McCormick, 32, of Hardesty, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Integris Baptist Hospice, Oklahoma City.

HARLIN HENRY HEADRICK

September 4, 2014

Harlin Henry Headrick passed on after a lengthy illness, Wednesday, August 27th, 2014, at the home of his daughter in Enid, Oklahoma. Harlin was born the eighth of ten children, October 25, 1930, to George and Mary Anna (Hensley) Headrick near Adams, Oklahoma. He lived most of his life in Guymon, Oklahoma. He was a well-known carpenter/contractor, leaving a legacy of many beautiful homes and commercial buildings in this area.
