THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THURSDAY TO NOON CST
SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* EVENT...RAIN SHOWERS WILL TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET THURSDAY EVENING ACROSS THE NORTHWEST TEXAS PANHANDLE AND WESTERN OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE. PRECIPITATION COULD BECOME MIXED WITH AND CHANGE TO SNOW FRIDAY...CONTINUING THROUGH SATURDAY. ICE ACCUMULATION OF ONE TENTH TO ONE QUARTER INCH ARE POSSIBLE. SLEET ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 1 TO 3 INCHES AND SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ABOVE THAT WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE OVER TO A WINTRY MIX THURSDAY EVENING AND PERSIST THROUGH SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...ROADS...BRIDGES...AND OVERPASSES IN THE WATCH AREA MAY BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS DUE TO ACCUMULATING ICE... SLEET...AND SNOW. EXERCISE CAUTION AND BE PREPARED FOR ROAD CLOSURES IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY.
