Vivian Stone

Guymon, Oklahoma – Vivian Marie Stone, 92, passed away Sunday evening, February 27, 2011 in Amarillo, Texas.
 
The daughter of Lela Elizabeth (Walker) and Maben Wiley Wortman, she was born December 31, 1918 in Centralia, Illinois.  Vivian was reared in rural southern Illinois, graduating from Sandoval High School in 1937.  She was married to Woodrow Allen Stone in 1946 in Shattuck, IL.  The Stone family made their home in Benton, IL.   Vivian was a homemaker and was a gifted seamstress.  She was a member of Sigma Phi Club, serving several terms as president and was always active in church activities, teaching Sunday school for many years.  Vivian made her home in Guymon, Oklahoma in 1965 and has been an active member of First Baptist Church. 
 
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara and husband, Rick Bohlander of Guymon; two sons, Gary Stone and wife, Gudny of Guymon and David Stone and wife, Cristina of Thomas, OK; sister, Phyllis Davidson of Centralia, IL; eight grandchildren, S.B. Stone and wife, Jan; Woodrow Allen Stone and wife, Heidi; Laura Bohlander; Sarah and husband, Patrick Lujan; Christopher Stone; Andrew Stone; Rachel Stone; and Annamaria Stone; and seven great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mildred Wortman; and brother-in-law, Alfred Davidson.
 
Funeral services will be Friday morning, March 4th, 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Guymon with Rev. Derek Cox, pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.
 
The family will receive friends at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon on Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.  Friends may also come by for visitation anytime Thursday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
