Guymon hosts News Channel10 Monday as they kick off their Summer Celebration with live news broadcasts and local entertainment.
Channel 10 will set up on Main Street between Third and Fourth Street beginning with the six o'clock news broadcasted live from Guymon followed by a free supper at 6:30 p.m.
"We want the community to make plans to stay all night, eat free, enjoy the live entertainment, listen to the music and even be on live T.V.," Ronnie Malone, interim  executive director for the Chamber of Commerce, said.
There will be pulled pork sandwiches, pork on a stick and hot dogs served to the crowd. Hunny's will be cooking the pork burgers and the Bank of the Panhandle will be roasting the hot dogs.
For the kids there will be two big jumping balloons provided by Farm Credit and a sidewalk chalk competition from 6:30 to 7 p.m. with the winners taking home a $50 savings bond donated by the City National Bank.
The fifth grade band will play at 6:30 p.m. followed by 15 year old hip hop dancer, Skyler Rodriguez of Texhoma.
The action of the night will all happen in the boxing ring when local boxer Trinidad Alvarez, takes the ring with the News Channel10 sports caster at 7:15.
Local band, 8 balls in a Box will perform live from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Alongside all the news and entertainment there will be vendors with booths set up along the streets. Booths include clothing, jewelry, sno-cones, toys and more.
Starting a 9 p.m. News Channel10 will be filming live auditions for the "Amarillo Star" vocal competition.
According to Mary Ann Hueston, of the Amarillo Gala committee, individuals interested need to bring a cd or video of their audition and fill out the entry form that will be provided. They will have a table set up under the News Channel10 tent from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for individuals to sign-up and bring their audio. Children under 18 must bring an adult with them.
From the videos or cds they will be 36 top vocalist and bring them back to compete for the top three spots.
The top three finalists will have their last performance at the Tri-State Fair and Rodeo Gala the evening of September 4 where the audience will choose the “Amarillo Star” winner.
The winner will recieve a $1,000 grand prize, be the opening performance for Luke Bryan at the Tri-State Fair on Sept. 9 and have guest appearances on the KGNC radio and KFDA_TV morning shows.
"So grab your lawn chairs and come out and enjoy the evening with your family and friends and show everyone that Guymon is a great place to be," Malone said.
This is a Guymon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Guymon Event and is sponsored by Seaboard, Farm Credit, Epic Touch, City National Bank, Bank of the Panhandle, Wal-Mart and the Guymon Daily Herald.
