The next enrollment clinic is coming up this Friday at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and incoming students will learn a great deal about getting started with the OPSU Experience. And speaking of the OPSU Experience .
DID YOU KNOW that Oklahoma Panhandle State University is highly rated as far as the strength of the teacher-pupil relationship, the accessibility of instructors, and the overall friendliness and professionalism of the faculty and staff?

There is no better place to study this information than from surveys that OPSU students respond to at the end of each semester. The overwhelming majority rate the University very high in all aspects of customer service, especially in the areas of class sizes and the positive relationships with the school faculty and staff.
DID YOU KNOW that OPSU graduates are in extremely high demand in today’s job market?
Given the excellent reputation of the academic programs, many employers look to OPSU first for potential employees and future company and corporate leaders. The placement rates for OPSU graduates are close to or at 100% in each and every one of the five schools that make up the University (Agriculture; Business and Technology; Education; Liberal Arts; and the School of Science, Mathematics and Nursing).
DID YOU KNOW that OPSU continues to forge ahead in all aspects of the physical campus in Goodwell?
All one needs to do is to take a drive through the campus. Renovations continue on existing buildings; the student apartment complex is among the best of any comparable school; and the Noble Activity Center is as good as it gets as far fitness facilities. The spacious Science and Agriculture Building will be finished and ready for use this summer and will provide state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for students and area companies.
DID YOU KNOW that OPSU is well known as one of the friendliest places anywhere?
The results of OPSU student surveys reflect exactly that and the concept is continually reinforced by the school’s philosophy of being service oriented. The faculty and staff, along with the offices of the Registrar, Admissions, and High School and Community Relations are all made up of trained professionals who will spend the time it takes to assist students.
DID YOU KNOW that education at OPSU is a  sensible investment?
OPSU has the lowest tuition rate of any four year public college in the state of Oklahoma. The cost factor; plus the overall excellence of the school’s faculty, staff, and academic programs make education at OPSU a very good investment.
DID YOU KNOW that the words CONVENIENCE and SERVICE are very big parts of the OPSU educational philosophy?
OPSU offers a constantly growing list of classes that will fit the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students, as well as the distance learner. Classes are offered at convenient times for all students, and counselors and advisors are always prepared to work with learners to accommodate their schedules as much as possible. Classes are offered on the Goodwell campus, in the Guymon Classroom, and “OPSU Online” continues to grow at a rapid pace.
DID YOU KNOW that OPSU diligently strives to serve the public in its service area?
The University provides public service through academic, agricultural, cultural, athletic, and social events. OPSU is one of the area’s largest employers and many members of the school’s faculty and staff are deeply involved with the communities in which they live.
DID YOU KNOW that the University offers Enrollment Clinics several times each year for new students and/or those who want to learn more about the OPSU Experience?
The next clinic is Friday, starting at 9 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
DID YOU KNOW that there is something for everyone at OPSU? . . . THERE IS.

I have to say, I was so disappointed in the Pioneer Days parade this year. It just seemed to be one long commercial for businesses, hardly any floats that exhibited the theme, which was what? And any Tom, Dick,or Harry could drive his car in it. Where has the spirit of Pioneer Days gone? My dad was born north of Guymon in 1912, lived there his entire life, and died there in 1994. He was 81 years old. He was a true pioneer. He was a farmer who survived the dust bowl days. He saw so many things come to pass and he got to witness the evolution of all those wonderful things. He and so many like him are the kinds of people we need to honor with Pioneer Days. We should never forget our roots. People say that Guymon hasn't changed. Oh,yes it has!! No matter where I live, Guymon will always be home even though my parents have passed on. I am proud to say I am from Guymon. I enjoy coming home especially for Pioneer Days, but I hope next year it looks more like the Pioneer Days I grew up with. Pioneer Days is the one thing that shouldn't change and should always honor those who paved the way in the Panhandle.
