Fireworks explode over Guymon as seen from Memorial Stadium on Friday night in this 8-second time exposure photo. The $5,000 fireworks display lasted about 10 minutes and was the only legal public display of fireworks in Texas County because of the burn ban. Guymon city and Texas County police responded to dozens of fireworks complaints as many in the city either didn't know about - or didn't care about - the fireworks ban and/or the burn ban. Those who were issued citations for violating the well-publicized ban on fireworks face a $500 fine in Guymon or a $1,000 fine if they were caught outside the city limits, and up to a year in the county jail for violating the rules.
