The Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo saw less money than previous years, the Guymon Convention and Tourism Board heard on Tuesday afternoon.
The rodeo committee requested an amendment to this year's Convention and Tourism budget to increase funding from $12,000 to $20,000 for fiscal year 2008 because of it. The board tabled the funding request until the next meeting.

CNB earns national recognition
Saturday, 10 May 2008
By HEATHER AVEY
Staff Writer

Guymon's own City National Bank & Trust Company has once again received it's highest five star rating.
BauerFinancial, Inc. of Coral Gables, Fla., the nation's leading independent bank rating and research firm was proud to announce the rating in April naming CNB one of the strongest banks in the nation.
Only 15 percent of the nation's banks are branded with such an honor.
The five-star rating is based on the overall financial picture of the bank.
This quarter represents the 59th consecutive time that CNB has earned this highest honor.
"We feel honored to receive this award and we will continue to meet our customers financial needs," Jim Webster, president of CNB, said.
"The times are changing an fewer banks are qualifying for this top rating, but our rigorous standards remain," Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial, boasts. You should be proud of your local bank. The City National Bank & Trust Company can claim this highest honor and you can be confident to call it your bank."
The CNB was established in 1901 and has been steadfastly serving the financial needs of it's neighbors and friends ever since. Currently CNB operates through two conveniently located offices in Guymon and can also be found on the internet at www.cnbguymon.com.
BauerFinancial, Inc., has been reporting and analyzing the performance of U.S. banks and credit unions since 1983. Consumers may obtain star ratings at www.bauerfinancial.com.
