Bernita Rittenhouse of Guymon is hoping to become Mrs. Oklahoma International.
Bernita Rittenhouse, of Guymon, has won the title of Mrs. Guymon, and will be competing for the title of Mrs. Oklahoma International on May 10. During her reign Rittenhouse, a legal assistant/accountant, will promote her platform of Abduction of a Child-Missing...Lost..Murdered. "Child abduction is a growing crime in the United States. But it can be prevented one family, one parent and one child at a time because time is our greatest enemy when a child is abducted," Rittenhouse said. She believes that the parents and the adults of the state have to invest their children's safety through education. "Through our law firm, I see both the positive and negative in family structure in my community." Her passion is to make a difference and make the commitment to see a difference in the future and the safety of children. "I pledge to spread child abduction education and awareness across the state should I be crowned Mrs. Oklahoma International," Rittenhouse said. She also plans to talk to the schools in the community about child abduction and what you should do in case one should take place. Rittenhouse will compete for Mrs. Oklahoma International will compete alongside contestants between the ages of 21 and 56 in the areas of evening gown, aerobic wear and personal interview. Rittenhouse resides in Guymon with her husband Creig and their children Kenedee, 10 and Tevin, 7. Not only is she a working wife and mother, but she works on her family ranch, rides horses and loves to spend time with her family. The Mrs. Oklahoma pageant is a preliminary to the Mrs. International pageant, which is annually held in Chicago, Ill. The Mrs. International pageant was developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments and commitment to family and marriage. Around the world women have found this system to be an opportunity to work with their husband and family to become a positive role model.
