Panhandle launches new information line: Dial 2-1-1

Don't know who to call to give or to get help? Call 2-1-1.
Northwestern Oklahoma is launching this easy to use three digit number on April 1. 
It will provide those in need access to all community information and services. 
2-1-1 will provide information, referral and crisis intervention in all 13 counties in northwester Oklahoma 24 hours a day and seven days a week, including Texas County.
Information they will provide include the following: non-profit agencies, governmental agencies, self-help support groups, community and civic organizations, hospital, clinics, care home, child or adult day care, mental health, where to donate goods, crisis counseling utility assistance, food pantry, where to volunteer and much more.
2-1-1 can be used from a land line or a celluar phone, but if you are unable to call it direct dial (580) 256-6819.
