There has been much controversy over the future of the Optima Lake area. A listening session is being held that is open to the general public on this particular matter later this month.
According to a press release, U.S. Army District Commander of the Tulsa area, Colonel Anthony C. Funkhouser, as the Corps of engineers, would like to gain a better understanding of the interests of all the stakeholders affected by the Optima Lake area.
Lieutenant Colonel Gene Snyman, Deputy District Commander, will be present at the Texas County Activity Center, located on Sunset Lane in Guymon, Okla., on Monday, February 22 for this listening session.
A welcome and brief introduction will begin at 6 p.m. The Tulsa District overview will be given from 6:10 to 6:30 p.m. The question and answer portion will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The release goes on to say the session is intended for Col. Funkhouser’s staff to listen to the public’s concerns. “I truly believe that by understanding each others concerns, we can work together to ensure the prosperity of the Optima Lake area,” said Col. Funkhouser.
