With sickness spreading like wildfire this flu season, flu clinics have been a necessity to keep everyone protected from evolving illnesses. The Texas County Health Department will be providing seasonal and or H1N1 influenza flu vaccines to individuals six months or older who are interested in reducing the chance of getting either seasonal or H1N1 influenza.

Limited quantities are available and will be administered while supplies last. Clinics will be held on Wednesday, December 16, in Texhoma, Okla., at the High School cafeteria from 9-11 a.m. and in Goodwell, Okla., at the Community Building from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Clinics will also be held on Thursday, December 17, in Hooker, Okla., at the Church of Christ from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and in Tyrone, Okla., at the City Hall from 1:30-3 p.m.

“Take time to get your flu shot and remind or schedule other family members to get their flu shot. Flu shots are available at some doctors’ offices, pharmacies, and at local county health departments, while supplies last,” said Texas County Health Department Administrative Director Terri Salisbury. “Many people travel around the country and visit relatives during the holiday season, which often increases transmission of influenza.”
Make sure and keep the entire family safe during this year's flu season. Many unexpected deaths have occurred due to the evolved influenza virus traveling throughout the Panhandle and the world.
