Although the onset of winter snow storms can make ones schedule a little hectic with driving, the dismissal of school and just getting from point A to point B, no one  can deny the beauty that comes with a heavy snow fall. This snow-packed tree is evidence of this.

Fire Station Renderings Receives Award
Tuesday, 24 November 2009
By KATIE MARTIRE
Managing Editor

The proposed new design for the Guymon Fire Department recently won a merit design award at the Fire Industry Equipment Research Organization (FIERO) Symposium in Charlotte, N.C. on November 1-3.
Designed by architect Brian Curtis, the green friendly renderings and designs were the only one in the Board category to receive a merit award, this category is for stations that have not been built yet but are in the planning process of being built. Five of the 34 entries into the symposium received a merit award in various categories. For a merit award, a design has to receive four out of five jurors votes, one of the jurors was a consultant for the architectural firm, without their vote, the design still received four out of four, which is a high honor.
A plaque will be presented to architect Brian Curtis as well as to the City of Guymon for this accomplishment.
