After being vandalized on three separate occasions, L.A. Nails along with the Guymon Police Department, are asking for the public to please come forward with any information. This small business has had their double-payned windows and also the door broken on more than one occasion, costing the family business unnecessary expenses. According to the Oklahoma Statutes Court Network (OSCN) website under Title 21: Crimes and Punishments, Chapter 69 Malicious Mischief, Section 1760, Maliciously Defacing Property of Another, states: Every person who maliciously injures, defaces or destroys any real or personal property not his own, in cases other than such as are specified in Section 1761 et seq. of this title, is guilty of: 1. a misdemeanor, if the damage, defacement or destruction causes a loss which is valued at less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00); or 2. a felony, if the damage, defacement or destruction causes a loss which is valued at Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) or more. B. In addition to any other punishment prescribed by law for violations of subsection A of this section, he is liable in treble damages for the injury done, to be recovered in a civil action by the owner of such property or public officer having charge thereof.
