A convicted sex offender allegedly strikes again.
Local man, Carrey William Applegate, 33, was arrested September 25, on allegations of lewd molestation on a juvenile under 16 years of age.
According to the affidavit for arrest warrant filed at the Texas County Court Clerk's Office, Officers were notified by a relative of the victim. The relative told the police that a child had been touched in an inappropriate way by Applegate.
Police spoke with the mother of the victim and also the victim to confirm the allegations, who told officers that Applegate had admitted his actions to the family and had apologized.
The affidavit goes on to say that Applegate had been contacted by an unknown individual that he was wanted by the authorities. Officers contacted Applegate's probation officer who advised officers that he had not shown up for work.
Officers then went to Applegate's grandmother's residence, she reportedly told officers that she hadn't seen him since 8:30 a.m.
