Details of a recent string of burglaries were just released. Geoffrey Alan Peterson, 44, was arrested after one of the victims he allegedly robbed told the police they suspected Peterson had broken into their home early last week. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed at the Texas County Court Clerk's Office, Peterson was apprehended by the GPD on September 16, in Peterson's possession at the time of arrest was a black in color bag which contained two gray in color Bank of the Panhandle money bags, the bags contained miscellaneous change, and 13 $10 quarter rolls. The officer took the evidence to Guymon Paint & Body, which had reported they had been robbed the same week of Peterson's arrest, they verified the money bags did in fact belonged to them. The Guymon Paint & Body employees informed the officers that Peterson was previously employed there at some point. The report goes on to say that upon arrival at the GDP for questioning, Peterson was observed by a dispatcher shoving something down his pants. The dispatcher informed the officers, upon that search, officers found $18 in $1 bills, $50 in $5 bills, $140 in $20 bills and some change, a key that belonged to a vending machine was also found in Peterson's possession. The report goes on to say that Peterson was read his Miranda Rights verbally and in writing, he then waived rights to an attorney and confessed to six different burglaries. The first burglary being on January 10, 2009 at Nanny's Bakery, where damages totaled $800 and a loss of $400 in cash. The second burglary occurred on July 6, 2009 at the Blue Quail Mobile Home Office where $250 in damages to the door were reported and $10 was stolen. The third reported burglary allegedly happened on August 12, 2009 which was a residence at the 100 block of N. James, there was no reported damages to the residence but there was $1600 in loss amount reported, $800 in coins and cash and an $800 Ruger ,44 magnum pistol. The fourth burglary happened at the same address on September 14, 2009, where $75 worth of gold coins were stolen and also blank checks. Damages reported on this burglary included $150 to the screen door, $500 to a window, $50 to a mirror and $5 to the rear door. The report goes on to say the fifth burglary occurred on September 15, 2009, at the 300 block of SW 7th St, where $11.29 was stolen from the residence. The sixth burglary occurred on September 16, 2009, in which Peterson allegedly broke into Guymon Paint & Body where he stole an unknown amount of coins, $200 in cash. Estimated damages to the back door were reported to be $400. Peterson is in custody at the Texas County Detention Center with a bond of $75,000 and is currently awaiting his initial appearance.
