The life of the rich and famous may seem glamorous and easy, but the peer pressure that comes with that fame is anything but glamorous and easy.
Buddy Landel, or "Nature Boy as he is known to his wrestling fans, knows first-hand what it is like to be exposed to the peer pressure of drugs and the pitfalls that occur with those drugs.
As a teenager, Landel became involved in professional wrestling and quickly became a superstar in the business. Landel signed one of the first guaranteed contracts in the wrestling business, wrestled some of the top stars in professional wrestling and headlined for both WCW and WWE. However, the superstar status that Landel achieved came to a crash once he began doing drugs.
Landel's life was almost destroyed due to drugs and after realizing this, he made a decision to change the direction of his life.
After changing his life, Landel has been active in his church has been interviewed by TBN.  During the interview, Landel spoke of the life of a superstar, flying around the world, partying every night and the "perfect life" that nearly destroyed him.
On Monday, Sept. 14, Landel will be presenting an anti-drug program to junior high students at Guymon and Goodwell.
According to Eddie Adamson, Guymon Chief of Police, Landel had been scheduled to wrestle in Amarillo on Sunday and decided to stay an extra day to speak to the students.
"We were lucky enough to get it worked out so he could come up and spend a day to talk to students in Guymon and Goodwell," Adamson said.
Adamson and Landel have been friends for several years. Landel has done anti-drug programs for Adamson when he was organizing the programs in Arkansas.
The program is sponsored by the Guymon Police Department, the Goodwell Police Department and Tri-County Electric.
