KATIE MARTIRE/The GDH Two nests made up of mostly wire were found by Guymon residents Don and Carol Rhoton, who discovered two large wire nests that consist of copper wire, barbed wire, 9 inch wire and even bed springs. The nests were found in their trees in Cimarron County. The larger nest measured 22x17 inches in length. The Walbury tree holding the nests was struck by lightning, splitting the tree in half. Along with high winds, the nests were exposed and taken to the Rhoton's home. The Rhoton's believe the tree was around 70 years old and was the home to crows and hawks.
