Children anticipate summer all school-year long but when it finally arrives, all they say id "I'm bored." Here are a few ideas to keep kids and parents from going stir crazy during the hot months. According to www.ktnv, there are a lot of things to keep busy during the summer. They suggest to keep children playing outside, it helps children learn about the environment. Studies show that children ages 3 to 12 are more likely to be physically active if they spend time outdoors. Playing outside also lowers children's risk for diabetes and high blood pressure and helps overweight children shed unwanted pounds. Physical activity also has shown to help children with their concentration and memory in the classroom. They go on to suggest, if one is a stay-at-home parent, take a trip to the local pool, if one is not available buy a kiddie pool. slip-n-slide or a fun sprinkler for kids to enjoy. Take children to a tennis court, help them learn a sport while getting exercise. Visit a local water park, the nearest water park is in Sunray, Texas. Picnics are always fun, Oklahoma Park is great for picnicking because of their large shading trees. Planting a garden with children teaches them a life skill as well as gives them a sense of responsibility, plus they will be so happy to see the results of their hard work. Camping out in the backyard will make a family memory the kids won't forget, pitch a tent and make smores and hot dogs over the grill, plus the bathroom is right inside so it is not really roughing it. Teach children how to fly a kite, it is fun for the whole family. Finally, don't forget that baseball games are always fun to watch, it keep children entertained and they can interact with the other children at the games.
