Most people in the community know this week's familiar face. Stanley Sturdivan is one of the most recognized friendly faces in Guymon. Stanley is a lifelong Guymon resident and attended Edison Elementary as a child. He is very close to his mother, JoAnn Studivan and has two brothers, Billy and Kurt, and one sister, Cleota. He has worked at the Panhandle Area Shelter Workshop (PASW) since 1983. Stanley has dedicated a majority of his life to his love of Guymon Tiger sports and radio announcing, as a child he always aspired to be a sports announcer. Stanley has announced games for Kids. Inc. sporting events for years. He has also done a lot of work for Guymon's local radio station, KGYN. Stanley volunteered at the 2009 Guymon Track Meet. He is also a member of the Guymon Lion's Club, the Booster Club and has been a team member of the Guymon Special Olympics for years. While not working at the Workshop or volunteering his time to his community, Stanley loves spending time with his cat Angel and listening to his radio, his favorite music is from the 60's and 70's. His all time favorite movie is "The Sound of Music." His favorite television show is "Wheel of Fortune." He loves Pioneer Days, being a part of the Special Olympics and working at the PASW. If he could choose a dream car it would have to be a 67' Mustang. Stanley admits his guilty pleasure is eating chicken fried steak.
