A planned power outage will be held to consolidate substations in Goodwell. In the past, Tri-County Electric members in Goodwell and the surrounding area were served by two substations. Earlier this year, the cooperative migrated members on the Jordan substation to the newer substation near the OPSU campus. The cooperative now plans to complete their initial consolidation to the new substation by migrating members in Goodwell on the old Goodwell substation to the new one. This consolidation will provide the customers with better stability and quality of electric services to Goodwell and the areas surrounding. A brief outage is being planned for Thursday, June 4 where approximately 312 members located in Goodwell will be without power from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. while the transfer is taking place. The members being affected should expect notification of the power outage by mail within the next few weeks. "Taking advantage of the latest technology allows us to deliver safe, reliable, affordable power," said Zac Perkins, manager of Communications and Member Relations at Tri-County Electric. "This modern substation is an example of our forward-looking strategy." If anyone has any question pertaining to the hour-long power outage or the transferring of the two substations to one substation, please call Tri-County at 1-800-522-3315.
