Although the onset of winter snow storms can make ones schedule a little hectic with driving, the dismissal of school and just getting from point A to point B, no one  can deny the beauty that comes with a heavy snow fall. This snow-packed tree is evidence of this.

Keeping a newspaper running smoothly is not as easy as some might think.
From editorial, to advertisements to circulation, Guymon Daily Herald's General Manager Allison Gipe knows all about the pressure of deadlines but always has a smile on her face. Originally born in Colorado Springs, Colo., Gipe and her family moved to Guymon, then later made a permanent residence in Texhoma, Okla. Gipe has been the General Manager of the Guymon Daily Herald for the past few years.
As a child, Allison's parents said she should be an attorney because she could argue with the best of them, and having a thick skin is a virtue to be in this business. Allison is the proud mother of three boys, Brandon, 14, Kyle, 12 and Matthew, 11, all attending Texhoma Schools. Each year, Allison serves on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and does a great deal helping with the Pioneer Day's Parade. She is also on the Rodeo Committee for the Chamber of Commerce.
While not working, volunteering time to the community and spending time with her sons, she enjoys watching the Denver Broncos and going to the movies. Allison admits she love's mixing peanut M&M's with her popcorn at the movies.
Her dream career as a child was to become a veterinarian, but once they had to put her dog to sleep that was no longer an option. Her all time favorite movie is "Shawshank Redemption" and her favorite t.v. shows are "Ghost Hunters" and "The Office." If she had the option of choosing her dream car, she would own a 2009 Dodge Challenger.
