Building Bridges For Autism Awareness Month Aaron's Bridge will be presenting the Autism Research Institute's 'Defeat Autism Now!' Regional Conference on June 13 and 14. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center at 2501 Conference Drive located in Norman, OK and will feature seminars to educate doctors, parents and professionals. Elizabeth Mumper, MD; Bryan Jepson, MD; Don Rossignol, MD; and Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, will hold discussions over several topics which will include behavioral strategies, biomedical strategies, dietary interventions, ways parents can help right now, and hands-on workshops to show how to put treatment strategies into action. June 14 will host a Clinician Introductory Workshop with CME Credits that will cover topics such as case histories, medical treatment strategies for gut disease and autism, integration of science and biomedical interventions for autism. Aaron's Bridge will provide a complimentary lunch. According to a press release, American Academy of Pediatrics President Renee R. Jenkins, MD, FAAP said "Autism is a challenge for pediatricians, their patients and families. By working together, we stand the best chance of helping these children to realize their full potential." "The Academy is committed to working with researchers and treatment groups like Defeat Autism Now! to get closer to finding answers to the multiple causes of autism and determining effective therapies." The conference will be sponsored by Aaron's Bridge. Aaron's Bridge was founded by Keith and Joni Geary due to their personal experience with autism and was created to facilitate access to more treatment options in Oklahoma for children with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Their son, Aaron, was diagnosed with autism at age 3, and the family began seeing improvements in his condition when he began biomedical treatments administered by Dr. Bryan Jepson at The Thoughtful House Center for Children in Austin, TX. April is Autism Awareness Month and acknowledges, as documented bye the CDC's report, that Autism affects one out of ever 150 children. Parents, doctors, and professionals are encouraged to make plans now to attend the conference in June. For a schedule and to register visit www.regonline.com/ari-oklahoma.
