Frugality was the main objective for the Board of County Commissioners of Texas County, Okla. while making decisions pertaining to which waste company to contract as well as contracting a company for a welding shop and storage at their weekly meeting Monday morning.
Local waste company, Rural Waste Management (RWM) of Optima, Okla. was the Board's obvious choice between the two companies that bid, the other being Seward County Landfill from Liberal, Kan. Representatives from each company were present at the meeting. Mike Taybor with Seward County Landfill and Brian Debaun and Erica Rossiter were there to represent RWM.
The Board unanimously decided to go with RWM, because their prices for roll off waste containers, whether it be 20, 30 or 40 yard, is quoted at a rate of $150, for all towns included; Adams, Hardesty, Hooker, Tyrone, Baker, Optima, Guymon, Goodwell, Texhoma and Yarborough. Seward County's prices fluctuated  from $5 to $115 more than RWM's rate of $150.
The welding shop and storage will be contracted to Trademark Construction of Hooker, Okla. Being the cheapest of three bids and having been known to do quality work, the Board unanimously chose this company for the contract with a bid of $46,909.00.
