Filing opens for city council elections |

The filing period for Municipal Offices in five Texas County municipalities will start at 8 a.m., on Mon., Feb. 2, and will run until 5 p.m., on Wed., Feb. 4.
To file a declaration of candidacy, please contact the Texas County Election Board at 301 N. Main St., in Guymon or by calling 580-338-7644.
This year, there are two council member positions in Guymon for Wards 1 and 2. The City of Hooker has two council member positions for Wards 2 and 4, and the position for treasurer open. The Town of Goodwell has two trustee positions with expiring terms, two trustee positions with unexpired terms and the treasurer position available. The Town of Texhoma will be accepting declarations of candidacy for two trustee positions and the Town of Tyron for three trustee positions and for treasurer.
Those wishing to file a declaration of candidacy must do so before 5 p.m., Wed., Feb 4, to be considered for the nonpartisan General Election to be held on April 7, 2009.
