Pugh Electrifies Tri-County
Tuesday, 09 December 2008
HOOKER — Nicolas Pugh is Tri-County Electric’s Electrifying Student of the Month for December 2008. He was selected for demonstrating the Touchstone Energy values of accountability, integrity and commitment to community. Nicolas was presented with a framed certificate and a $100 gift card on Dec. 4.
“It’s hard to estimate the number of people who have been touched by Nic’s selfless attitude and generosity,” said Youth Minister Wade Longan in his nomination of Nicolas. “Nic Pugh has had an impact on each of our lives. An impact that cannot be measured in numbers or in time spent.”
Nicolas is a sophomore at Beaver High School where he has been involved in tennis and Fellowship of Christian Students. He works part time at Downing’s Food Market and is actively involved in the First Christian Church of Beaver. Nicolas volunteers as a greeter on Sunday mornings. He volunteered to help make decorations for vacation bible school and to help with the kids. He also helps to sponsor a child in Indonesia through Compassion International.
“If you were to ask most people in Beaver about Nic Pugh, they would tell you about a sweet, big hearted and caring young man,” said Longan.
Nicolas aspires to be a youth minister after graduation because he wants to be able to reach kids and make a positive difference in their lives. He has started to consider his college choices but has not made a final decision yet.
Faron and Kyle Pugh of Beaver are Nicolas’s parents.
