Although the onset of winter snow storms can make ones schedule a little hectic with driving, the dismissal of school and just getting from point A to point B, no one  can deny the beauty that comes with a heavy snow fall. This snow-packed tree is evidence of this.

Hardesty man dies in rollover
Friday, 05 December 2008

A 19-year old Hardesty man was killed Wednesday when a pickup he was driving rolled off a bridge and into a dry creek bed.

Justin Shelton was driving northbound in a 1992 Ford pickup on Mile 47 at Road GG, six miles south of Hardesty, at 3:22 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the roadway on the right and struck a bridge embankment. The vehicle continued along the railing until it fell off the bridge, coming to rest on its top.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, seatbelts were not in use at the time of the accident. The driver was pinned for two hours.

The accident was investigated by trooper Levi Hill of the Hooker Detachment and assisted by Lt. David Welch of Beaver and trooper Trey Sheets of the Texhoma detachment.
