ENID—The undefeated Red Devils put their fifth win in the record book Friday night with a 54-6 win over Oklahoma Bible Academy.
Bryson Beattie recorded five touchdowns, including a 63-yard punt return. Will Gaillard and Ramy Anderson each scored one touchdown.
Beattie had 10 carries for 187 yards and one interception. Gaillard had five carries for 81 yards.
Texhoma amassed 533 total yards as opposed to just 114 by OBA. The Red Devils rushed for 503 yards and passed for 30. OBA rushed for 99 yards and passed for 15.
Texhoma emerged from halftime leading 19-0 and scored 28 third quarter points and another seven in the final frame.
“We had probably the worst first half we had all year. The kids scored 28 points in the third quarter. We didn’t give up a first down in the third quarter,” said Texhoma head coach Aaron Witten.
“Bryson (Beattie) was all over the field. He was by far the best player on the field tonight,” he said.
“Our defense played well. They scored on our JV kids in the last three minutes of the game,” Witten said.
A running clock was used in the fourth quarter.
OBA is now 1-5.
Texhoma is ranked No. 3 and No. 4 in separate polls.
Just one week ago, the Red Devils beat previously undefeated Mooreland 42-6.
The score could have been much higher. One Texhoma touchdown was called back due to a penalty and younger, less experienced Red Devil players were in the game late in the contest for the experience.
The Red Devils host Turpin next Friday night.
