HOOKER — Zac Perkins, Vice President, Corporate Services of Tri-County Electric, held a discussion meeting to inform the community of current standings and the goals that Tri-County has for the future. He discussed the visions and missions that the Cooperative stands for.
He provided information about Tri-County that describes their promise to serve their members with integrity, innovation, accountability, and commitment to their communities. They are a member-owned business committed to delivering safe, reliable electric service at the lowest price allowed by good management practices.
“We are committed to making the best decisions we can and enhancing the quality of life where we are at,” said Perkins.
He discussed the fact that the board members are all living in the areas they represent, which makes them extremely relatable to the individuals that Tri-County serves, and they are familiar with the territory. This also allows equal representation throughout the area.
“The Board is always very concerned about every member having the same amount of representation on the Board as each other, as best they can.”
Perkins was able to provide a brief history of the area’s electric company and the improvements they have made up to this point. He also was able to discuss some goals and changes that the Co-op plans to make in the future; one of those being a prospective name change from “Tri-County” to “No Mans Land.”
This will be voted on by the members during the annual meeting that usually takes place during the spring season, but has been moved to take place next month.
