Main Street Dance Lessons

October 6, 2011

Dancing is always a popular pastime in this area. Whether you dance for exercise or as a social outing, it is something that brings much enjoyment to many. For those who would like to learn more about this enjoyable endeavor, several dance classes are being offered through the Main Street Guymon Singles Group, which doesn’t mean the dance lessons are only for singles!
Leita Andvik is currently teaching Country and Western Two Step and Waltz to the beginner, to the better than beginner but wanting to get better, and to the ones who want to come out and shake a leg. She currently has classes scheduled for Tues., Oct. 11; Thur., Oct. 13; Tues., Oct. 25; and Thur., Nov. 17. Each of these classes takes place at the No Man’s Land Center at 515 NE 15th from 7 to 9 pm. For more information on these classes, call Leita at 338-7216.
Ballroom Waltz and Jitterbug / Swing is being taught by Carroll and Leonene Gribble Thur., Oct. 20 and Oct. 27, also from 7 to 9 at the No Man’s Land Center. There is no charge for the classes. For more information, call Gribbles at 338-3318.
The dance classes are being offered through the volunteer services of the teachers and a partnership of the Main Street Guymon Singles and No Man’s Land Senior Citizen’s Center. The Main Street Singles are sponsored by Long and McKinnon Insurance. For more information about classes and other opportunities being offered by Main Street Guymon, visit or email
