Longtime Hooker couple among tornado victims

A longtime couple from Hooker was among the fatalities as tornadoes ravaged central Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Don Krug, 71, and Joan Krug, 67, were killed when a tornado struck them along Interstate 40 near Calumet, west of El Reno.
The Krugs were married in 1963 in Colorado. They moved to Hough and later to Guymon, where Mr. Krug worked at Adams Hardfacing and Mrs. Krug was secretary for Trinity Baptist Church.
The couple moved to Hooker in 1972 and were members of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include their daughters, Linda, Lisa, Lara and Luain, as well as their husbands and children.
The funeral service is Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, with burial at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
Ten fatalities have been confirmed in the tornado outbreak, including a 3 year-old boy who had been missing in Piedmont. Fatalities also include the boy’s 15 month-old brother
