After a disappointing loss to Beaver in the first game of a doubleheader last night, the Lady Tigers came back and dusted the Lady Dusters in the finale.
Beaver kept control of the first game, leading 6-3 going into the sixth and final inning. By the time it was over, the Lady Dusters tallied a 14-4 finish.
The Lady Tigers later beat Beaver 6-3 in the finale.
Guymon head coach Wesley Bryson said the Lady Tigers didn’t play well in the first game.
“It was something we didn’t expect. We had seven or eight errors,” he said.
He added that once all of the players came out and played the way they were supposed to the Lady Tigers would win the second game.
However, Bryson added that his team is a lot better than they played last night.
The Lady Tigers next host Woodward on Tuesday. The junior varsity plays in the Tyrone Tournament today at 1:15 p.m.
Beaver’s junior high team beat Guymon 6-2.
This year is the first season for junior high softball for Guymon, Texhoma and several other area schools. Beaver was the only Panhandle school that had a junior high school softball program prior to this year.
