The Lady Tigers seem to be on a roll with big wins over Beaver and Laverne at Beaver Monday and wins over Class 5A El Reno and 4A Star Spencer at the Jones-McGuiness Tournament last Friday and Saturday.
Now Guymon has a rematch with the Texhoma Lady Devils at home today with an opportunity to get even for Class 1A Texhoma winning both ends of a doubleheader over the Lady Tigers last month.
Guymon beat Beaver 15-6 and Laverne 8-4 Monday night.
âEverybody hit the ball well. Theyâve been hitting the ball since El Reno,â said Guymon head coach Wesley Bryson. He was referring to the win over El Reno at the Jones-McGuiness Tournament.
âWe had very few errors and we played solid defense,â he said of the wins over Beaver and Laverne.
âEverybody contributed a hit when we needed it,â Bryson said.
âMacy (Pritchard) pitched both games and pitched extremely well,â he said.
Pritchard struck out seven batters. Her season high is 11 strikeouts.
Tyrone beats GHS JV
Tyroneâs varsity took a doubleheader from the Guymon JV at Guymon Monday night. The scores were 8-4 and 11-1.
The second game counted as a JV game for both schools.
Tori Dumler, Yos Rodriguez and Jordyn Koehn doubled for Tyrone.
âWe came out and we were ready to play, said Tyrone head coach Hope Cox. âI was proud of them. Weâre ready for districts.â
Tyrone scored five runs in the first inning and six in the second in the second game.
âWe gave them two big innings,â said Guymon JV coach Ty Palmer.
âIn the second game, the first and second innings were a heart breaker. They just came out flat. You could see that in their faces. The two big innings cost us,â he said.
