Hospital Board discusses radiology venture

October 23, 2012

GUYMON — Memorial Hospital of Texas County Board of Control held a special meeting Monday at 3 p.m. to discuss financial analysis on partnership with physicians for a radiology joint venture.
CEO Lee Hughes updated the board on the stance of the partnership and said that NewLight currently has the document now and will be able to get back with the hospital later this week.
“The nuts and bolts of the arrangement have been agreed upon, but now it is the small details that the attorneys have to work out,” said Hughes
Board member Wayne Johnson wanted to clarify the situation.
“So right now we wouldn’t really be voting on the partnership, we’d be voting on going ahead with preparing for a partnership,” said Johnson.
Hughes responded by saying the board would be voting on the partnership being approved contingent upon legality of the law firm. He informed the board that they would, in fact, have an opportunity to view the final contract to put their stamp of approval on the agreement before it goes into effect.
The motion was made and seconded to proceed with the Radiology Joint Venture with the stipulation that it is okayed by NewLight, and once it has been approved and signed by both sides of the joint venture, it will be brought back to the board for final approval and signing and go into effect promptly.
