The Bulldogs started two-a-day football practices this week, along with other area schools. Head coach Jacob Kreamer is looking for the 11-man, Class A squad to improve on the 5-5 2011 season. Hooker made it only as far as the first round of the playoffs. Kreamer said during spring practice in May that he was hoping to finish high enough in the district to secure a home field playoff spot. Returning starters include quarterback Joe Bean, running back Taylor McBee and linemen Braxton Taylor and Alex Jaruez. The Bulldogs lost receiver Payson Slator, who moved to Tyrone and will play for the Bobcats this fall.
