You have a civil legal issue facing you - property, estate, probate. Maybe its legal tax issues or another hearing. You're not sure where to turn or if you can afford to hire a lawyer to help you with the matter hanging over your head like a dark cloud.

The Texas County Bar Association and the Oklahoma Bar Association will be available to assist you - free of charge - on April 27. According to Texas County Bar Association chairperson Avery B. Haines, the annual event is "dedicated to educating the public about the legal system and celebrating the liberties we have as Americans."

According to Haines, a full range of legal advice will be offered.

The Texas County Bar Association will be participating in the Ask A Lawyer program on April 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., with local attorneys offering free legal advice during that time.

The annual event is coordinated with the Ask A Lawyer television program on OETA, airing at the same time. The statewide number with the Oklahoma Bar Association will be accepting calls from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Segments including adoption, debt and bankruptcy and drug court will be part of the evening program.

Spanish speaking attorneys will be available for legal advice on April 27 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the same statewide number.

In Texas County, calls will be received at (580)338-6591 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.; statewide, calls will be received from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at (800)456-8525.
