Curtis Wayne Overton, 51, of Texhoma passed away Monday morning, Dec. 5, 2011 in Amarillo, following a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
The son of Wayne and Nelvenia (VanWagner) Overton, Curt was born April 25, 1960 in Guymon. He was raised Hardesty, where he attended the Hardesty school system, graduating with the Class of 1978.
Curt married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Brown, on March 9, 1981 in Hardesty and they had two children: Chani and Cash.
Curt had worked for Phillips Petroleum, GPM, Duke Energy and DCP Midstream for the past 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Overton and his maternal grandparents, Jim and Violet Tharp.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Overton of the home; daughter, Chani Ferguson and husband Trevor of Amarillo; son, Cash Overton of Weatherford, Okla.; two grandchildren, Oakley and Kensi Ferguson of Amarillo; his parents, Wayne and Nelvenia of Hardesty; two sisters, Tina Smith and husband Tony of Hardesty and Carla Hein and husband Joe of Guymon.
Curt is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will take place Thursday afternoon, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Texhoma High School Auditorium with Rev. Steve Roach, pastor of the Texhoma United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery.
Services are under the care of the Bunch â€“ Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
