CLEET Investigating Cimarron County Sheriff’s Office

Interim Cimarron County Sheriff Kevin McIntire told The Boise City News on Wednesday, that CLEET, (Council of Law Enforcement and Training) is in the process of an investigation of the Sheriff’s Office.
McIntire said that CLEET Investigator Walt Birdsong, an employee of CLEET was investigating actions by previous employees regarding CLEET Documents, i.e. personnel documents.
Since it concerns personnel, McIntire cannot reveal names.
“We are cooperating,” McIntire said.
A call by The Boise City News to the office of CLEET Executive Director Steve Emmons, elicited a “We can neither confirm nor deny an investigation of the Sheriff’s Office,” from a spokeswoman.
CLEET has, since 1963, been the agency that trains peace officers in the state of Oklahoma.
Its Mission Statement on its website reads:
“To provide the citizens of Oklahoma with peace officers who are trained to be professional, ethical, conscientious, sensitive to needs of the public, knowledgeable and competent in identified learning objectives; and to protect the public by regulating private security in the State of Oklahoma through education and licensing requirements and to ensure licensees practice within the provision of the law.”
