Aggies plan to bounce back after tough loss

GOODWELL—After last week’s heartbreak overtime loss, the Aggies want a win this weekend at home against Wayland Baptist University, and eventhough the Pioneers’ record is just 2-6, they trounced Southwest Assemblies of God University 58-37 two weeks ago.
The WBU Pioneers have been shut out three times this season and have given up 393 points thus far. They average just 18 points per game and have given up 70 more rushing yards (2327) than passing yards (2257) this season. Their offense relies heavily on their passing game that averages 256.56 yards per game compared to their average of 61.6 rushing yards per game. The Aggies need to contain quarterback Anthony Campuzano from finding and hitting his receivers, he has thrown for 865 yards and four touchdowns this season. The Aggies have done a good job this year in stopping the run, but WBU’s running game is nothing to be concerned about. The Aggies must shut down the air threat, maintain a solid running game and avoid underestimating the Pioneers.
The game is set to kickoff at 2 p.m. on November 3.
It is Military Appreciation Day on campus and veterans who identify themselves at the ticket booth will receive a special pass granting them free admission as well as free bag of popcorn and a soft drink from the concession stand. Veterans will be asked to stand to be recognized between the first and second quarters. In addition, a special group of cheerleaders, ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade students, will perform routines at halftime that they learned at OPSU’s cheer camp.
Admission to the football game is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 5-12 and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at any Epic Touch location as well as at the stadium the day of the game.
