Tigers have tough home opener against Bishop-McGuiness

March 6, 2012

GUYMON - The baseball home opener didn’t go quite as well as the Guymon Tigers had probably hoped, but against a tough Bishop-McGuiness team there were bright spots. On a windy day at Asa Howard Legion Field the wind was blowing in the Fighting Irish’s favor in the 13-4 and 19-5 wins.
In the first game of the double header on Monday night the Irish got off to a fast start, scoring nine runs in the first two innings. That would just be the beginning of a long five inning game for the Tigers.

GUYMON - After months of hard work in the weight room the Tiger powerlifters earned their way to state this weekend in the Regional meet at Cashion, Oklahoma Alan Williams, Michael Arriola, Reed Winter and Arthor Rico all qualified for state with their finishes and Clay Brooks competed very well also.
Meets for the powerlifting season started back in January for the Tigers, but due to extensive travel they only competed in their meet at Regionals.
After weeks of training in the weight room at the football stadium the Tigers proved themselves as heavy lifters this past weekend.
