Wallace J. Martens

Wallace J. Martens, 96, of Turpin, passed away June 29, 2012 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
Wallace John Martens was born April 19, 1916 at a home in Fairview, Okla., the son of John M. and Anna M. Wichert Martens. This is where he attended school and grew up. He came to live with his uncle, Jake Wichert in Adams, Okla. He slept in the elevator and work for a time at Dudley Mires store. This is where he met Mildred Harr. He returned to Fairview and worked in Enid at the Helms Amusement Park.

Pat McGuire

Pat McGuire, 74, of Guymon passed away Monday afternoon, June 25, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
The daughter of Everett and Gladys (Ridenour) Walton, she was born Sept. 14, 1937 in Kansas City, Kan. Pat was raised and attended school in Kansas City.
Pat and Walter Neigebauer were married on May 7, 1967 in Kansas City. The family moved to Guymon in June 1982; they later divorced. Pat had worked in various cafeterias over the years and most recently worked as a deliverer for the Guymon Daily Herald. Pat and Eugene Perry McGuire were married on Sept. 17, 1999 in Guymon.

Lynne C. Goodman

JASPER, Ind. — Lynne C. Goodman, age 75, died peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Aurora, Ill. She was born June 4, 1937 at Kalamazoo, Mich. Her parents were Willis M. and Melba (Caldwell) Bagshaw. Lynne was a 1955 graduate of Liberal High School. 


On Jan. 21, 1955, she married Max D. Goodman at the First United Methodist Church in Liberal. Max preceded her in death on May 12, 2001. 


Lynne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In recent years, Lynne enjoyed spending winters with friends in Bowling Green, Fla.

Ray Edgar “Bubby” Boothby

Ray Edgar “Bubby” Boothby 96 passed away, June 23, 2012 Saturday at Emeritus Liberal Springs in Liberal.
He was born June 5, 1916 in a dugout near Texhoma, the son of Dan C. and Susie (Sweet) Boothby. He has been a longtime resident of Texhoma, moving to Liberal eight and half years ago.

Raymond Charles Lemke

Raymond Charles Lemke, of West Tawakoni, Texas,  passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the age of 79 after a yearlong battle with a variety of age related ailments.   He was born in Guymon, on the family farm.  He will be buried at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery, with his parents Wilhelm and Emma Lemke, at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012, with Pastor Mark Westcoatt officiating.  Coker-Mathews Funeral Home of Greenville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.   Ray was the youngest of their 12 children. 

Sally J. McMurry Goldsberry

Sally was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt. Friends and neighbors were part of an extended family that she cherished.
Sally was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Charles Stewart McMurry, her mother, Beulah Burchfield McMurry, her brother, Dr. Charles Stewart McMurry II, her sister, Tabitha McMurry Reed and her husband of more than 50 years, Gene Goldsberry.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Bruce Graham, granddaughters Maggie and Audrey Graham, sisters-in-law Mary Anne McMurry, Mona Goldsberry, Dixie Armstrong, nieces and nephews and their families.
