Kim Ellen Hays, 55, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, 2012 at her home.
The daughter of Mary Faye (Ballew) and Buddy R. Carson, she was born July 19, 1956 in Oklahoma City. She attended Classen schools.Â
Kim was reared in a car racing family. Her father, Bud Carson, brought racing to Oklahoma, with his own Mar-Car company and he was a longtime track manager of the Oklahoma Fair Grounds. The entire family promoted and participated in racing. She was united in marriage to Brian Todd Hays on Feb. 13, 1987 in Oklahoma City.
Laura J. Sturges, 84, of Baker, Okla., died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012â¨at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1927 in Leachburg, Pa., the daughterâ¨Bill & Myrtle Prunty Jenkins.
She lived with her grandparents Edward & Florence Prunty forâ¨seven years in Leachburg, moving to Rocky Ford, Colo. and living with â¨her mother and finishing school. During World War II, she workedâ¨at the Air base in La Junta.
