Claudia Cole, 81, former longtime Texhoma resident, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at Grace Living Center, Oklahoma City.
Claudia Mae Brown was born Feb. 8, 1930 at Eola, Texas to Etta Mae (Steadman) and Thomas Claude Brown. She graduated as valedictorian from Miles High School in Miles, Texas in 1947.Â
While waiting tables at her parentsâ cafe, she met John Cole. After a short two month courtship, they were united in marriage on Dec. 6, 1947 at Robert Lee, Texas. The Coles lived in Friona, Texas, for nine years prior to moving to Texhoma in 1967.Â
Willa âDeanâ Smith, 86, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Stratford. Brad Beckett, minister of the church, will be officiating, assisted by Jim York.
Interment will follow in Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Dean was born on May 11, 1925 in Delaware, Okla. to Luke and Ruth Crupper. She was united in marriage to B.L. âChuckâ Smith on Aug. 10, 1942 in Fritch, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1987.
