Helen Hill, 83, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 8, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

Paul Charles (Biggie) Stephens was born on Sept. 20, 1943 to Marie Wilson Stephens and Dave Stephens in Milfay, Okla. He went home to glory on Wednesday evening, March 7 2012 at his home with his family at his bedside.
Paul attended school in Stroud. In 1960, he hitchhiked to Guymon to visit his brother. While visiting, Paul met the love of his life, Sherry Drew Bookless.
All current and former girl members, volunteers, family and friends are invites to a fun-filled afternoon on Saturday for the Girl Scoutsâ 100th Anniversary celebration. From 1-4:30 p.m., members of the Girl Scouting family will gather at the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church at 6th and Roosevelt.
âNot only is this an opportunity for Girl Scouts to reconnect through traditions such as a flag ceremony, songs and stories, but also to see how far our organization has come over the last 100 years,â said lifetime Girl Scout Evelyn Schmidt.
GOODWELL â Anyone interested in becoming a storm spotter is welcome to attend the Amarillo National Weather Service Skywarn Spotters training at Oklahoma Panhandle State Univ. on Thursday, March 8 in the Science and Agriculture building room 101. his yearâs session will begin at 7 p.m. and last about two hours. The class is open to anyone who is interested in knowing more about severe weather as well as those interested in Skywarn spotter training. Krissy Scotten of the National Weather Service will be here to teach the training session.
The No Manâs Land Museum in Goodwell is offering a unique opportunity to dig deeper into the food world by hosting a special exhibit, sponsored by the Smithsonian, âKey Ingredients - America By Food.â
March 10 through April 21, the exhibit will be on display and in conjunction, complementing presentations with special guest speakers and a reception are scheduled throughout upcoming the month.
âIts about food,â said the museumâs Acting Custodian Sue Weissinger. âEverything from the production of it and how we use it, innovations catered around food and the assimilation of ethinic foods.â
