On the boys side things started off in Liberalâs favor and it seemed as though Guymon would not be able to recover. In the first quarter the Redskins scored 25 points and Guymon was able to scrap together 14 of their own points. Early on it was a very quick moving game and in just a few minutes there had been five possessions for each team.
âWe got down early, they were a very athletic, very good team. But there was not quit in our team and they were able to get it back to a close game,â said coach Tyler Chapman.
LIBERAL - In both games against Liberal last night there were moments it seemed the Tigers would pull away for the win. For the Tigers those moments wouldnât last as the girls lost 38-33 and the boys lost 64-51.
The Lady Tigers started things off quickly, shots were falling and defense was causing turnovers. At the end of the first it seemed as though Guymon had things completely under control.
âI thought we started off well. We were aggressive offensively and we started just how we planned,â said coach Tim Hofferber.
FELT - On January 27th Felt traveled to Goodwell for games, which the Eagles won handily. Monday night Goodwellâs travels to Felt did not go quite as well. The Lady Eagles once again were able to beat Felt, 33-31, but the boys were unable to win the 53-45 game.
Both games on Monday were close ones that could have ended with either team getting the win. The boys game was just a one point game at halftime and the Eagles were only down three with a minute to play.
