The Guymon Tigers know that if they want to keep the attention of their fans, this week is vital.
After opening the season with a pair of lopsided losses the Tigers host Hugoton on Friday. With the game being homecoming, they can be sure that the stands will be full. However, if they canâ€™t find a way to get their first win of the season, it could be the last time this year they see a packed Memorial Stadium.
Irene Smith, 96, of Guymon; passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13, 2011 at the Dunaway Manor.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Rick Swartz, 61, of Tyrone, passed away Sept. 12, 2011 at his home.
Rick was born Dec. 6, 1950 in Beaver, the son of James Stephen and Betty LoRie Booth Swartz. He attended school in Arizona and Tyrone, graduating from Liberal High School with the Class of 1968.
He then attended West Texas State University in Lubbock, Texas and finished his education at Seward County Community College in Liberal, being a part of the first graduating class.
James Clinton Price Buck, 86, of Elkhart, Kan. died Sept. 14, 2011, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart. He was born June 28, 1925 in Kirbyville, Mo. the son of William Aua and Julia Lovida (Gibson) Buck.
Charles â€śCharlieâ€ť Wilson Brown, 83, of Texhoma, Okla. died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at The Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, N.M.
Charlie was born July 24, 1928, in Elmer, Okla. to Samuel Jefferson Brown and Addie (Wilson) Brown. He attended schools in Keyes, Okla., Mt. Ida, Ark., and later in Texhoma, where he graduated from High School in 1947. After High School, he completed two years of study at Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell.
Sherman Lee Gore, 51, of Texhoma, Okla.; passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 11, 2011 at the Triumph Hospital in Amarillo.
The son of Robert and Beverly (Meredith) Gore, he was born on Aug. 23, 1960 in Guymon.
Sherman attended the Texhoma School System, and was a member of the First Christian Church. The majority of his working life was spent in the gas and oil industry.
He was married to Donna Patricia Webb on June 7, 2007 in Texhoma. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2008. He is also preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Gore.
The Guymon FFA Chapter has hard at work with their annual meat sale fundraiser of Blue and Gold Sausage. The deadline to place meat orders is quickly approaching, as members will be accepting orders through Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The local FFA chapter is very active in volunteering around the community and this is a great way for the community to give back to the chapter.
Destinee Celest Belden
Destinee Celest Belden is the 17 year-old daughter of Sean and Selene Doyle of Guymon and Chad Belden of Dumas. She is the granddaughter of Elia Dominquez of Dumas and Bill and Susie Hogan of Dumas.
Destinee is the younger sister of Kassondra DeLeon and the older sister of Brittney, Mariah, and William Belden. She has been on the varsity softball team and cheerleading squad for four years now and played on the varsity basketball team for three.
